Santorini is one of the Ionian Islands located close to the north western coast Greece.
Santorini is often described as the "green isle" due to the rain fall it receives in the early and late holiday seasons
On the west coast of Santorini you will find Paleokastrits which clings to the steep hillside
On the other side of the island you will find Santorini Town, the capital of the island, which is overlooked by the two castles
From the top of the newer castle above Santorini Town you will experience one of the most beautiful views over the harbour and the coast of mainland Greece and Albania.
In the north of the island Sidari is a quiet family resort, wide long and wide sandy beaches on one side an sand stones cliffs on the western side plus a number of small sandy bays
The gently shelving Sidari beach ensures that the shallow water is hot and ideal for swimming.
Unfortunately due to climate change the sandstone cliffs on the western side of Sidari and nearby beaches, are subject to erosion due to heavy rainfall and pounding of the waves.
