Massage Herbal infusions and aromatic essences are used to relax, calm and balance the body:- Indian Herbal Oil: A restorative massage to purify and balance both body, mind and soul. Originating from Indian healing rituals, the combination of blended warm herbal oil and specific massage techniques are designed to balance the nervous system and restore vital energy flow. Balinese: This relaxing massage has been handed down through generations. The technique of skin rolling, long kneading strokes, pressure pointing and foot massage are believed to renew, strengthen and heal the body. Bali Santi Oil, an infused coconut oil blended with essential oils of basil, vetiver and patchouli, enhances this traditional treatment. Traditional Thai: This ancient massage technique also known as yoga massage has been performed for centuries. Based on the application of pressure along the energy meridians of the body, together with stretching of muscles, the Thai massage stimulates energy flow and eases muscle tightness, replacing tension and stress with a sensation of peace and calm. The massage is performed wearing a soft cotton two-piece Siam outfit. Reflex: This specialised hand and foot massage relieves stress and tension, improves blood circulation and helps to restore the body's natural state of equilibrium. This technique is based on the premise that the body contains chi (energy) which constantly flows through channels or zones which unite to form the reflex points of the feet and hands. varies
Facials These refreshing facials include deep aromatic cleansing, exfoliation plus face, neck, shoulders and hand massage. A revitalising mask and moisturiser using botanicals and essential oils nourish, hydrate and balance the skin. Sea Elements: This hydrating and nourishing facial for every skin type uses ocean nutrients and infusions of sandalwood essential oil. Balanced with the mineral content of the seaweed mask, this unique facial combines the essences of earth, air, fire and water elements. Aloe & Lavender: This toning, cooling and refreshing facial is especially beneficial for sunburnt skin. Utilising a rich nourishing mask, aloe vera gel and lavender essential oil, it gently soothes and calms the skin. Tropical Flower: Essences of herb and flower botanicals and ylang ylang essential oil, plus a flower potpourri facial mask combine with beneficial aromatherapy oil formulations to balance the skin. varies
Body treatment BODY ELIXIRS:- Cleanse, detoxify and renew with herbal, seaweed and tropical garden ingredients. Oceanic Ritual: The Island Spa’s tribute to the sea and celebration of water commences with an energising aroma massage. Zeal Oil infused with the essence of mandarin, neroli and palmarosa is featured. A refreshing blue ocean seasalt scrub follows which exfoliates the skin. The body is then cocooned in a mineralising sea body mask. A luxurious ocean bath of pure sea salt and citrus blends is complemented by a coconilla elixir of cool coconut milk and vanilla beans to complete this aquatic pampering. Maldivian Monsoon Ritual: This native ritual begins with a Kela Gana (ground sandalwood body scrub) followed by the soothing experience of gentle monsoon rain. A refreshing rose water rinse then creates a meditative and rejuvenating experience for complete well being. It continues with a restorative warm herbal oil massage to nourish and detoxify the nervous system, then a relaxing steam bath, and an application of frankincense sandalwood body lotion to complete this unique and indulgent ritual. Javanese Lulur: This Lulur combines a Javanese beauty ritual and the ultimate in pampering. The treatment begins with a relaxing Balinese massage, then exfoliation with granular turmeric, sandalwood, sweet woods, rice powder, ginger root and spices. Following the Lulur polish, indulge in a fresh yoghurt splash and relax with a soothing soak in a bath infused with tropical flowers and essential oils. The application of tropical flower lotion and a healthy jamu (Indonesian herbal beverage) completes the elixir. The Lulur is a traditional retreat to luxury. SKIN SCRUBS:- A combination of sea salts, blended herbs and seeds have been used for centuries to gently exfoliate and revitalise the skin creating a natural glow. All scrubs conclude with a soothing neck and back massage. Almond Masala: Inspired by the renowned Garam Marsala (strong mix) this exquisitely gentle and nutrient-rich body scrub has a subtle warming and balancing effect, and is suitable for all skin types. The main ingredients are raw almond, nutmeg, black pepper, cardamom seeds and clove leaf. An application of sage cedarwood lotion then moisturises and hydrates the skin and spirit. Tropical Glow: Sea water crystals are blended with mandarin, neroli and palmarosa essential oil to stimulate the skin and offer overall conditioning. A revitalising fresh lime rinse offers a dynamic approach to increasing circulation, while the skin exfoliate mildly detoxifies the body. The scrub finishes with a refreshing and nourishing application of ocean body milk. Black Pepper Basil: A sensuous combination of herbs and black pepper warms the muscles and increases blood circulation. A soothing shower to cool and calm the renewed skin is enjoyed before moisturising with a hydrating basil lemon body milk. This is a perfect treatment to begin one's vacation, leaving the body fresh and invigorated. BODY WRAPS :- Skin conditioning and relaxing with traditional herbs, sea elements and botanicals. Whilst the body is wrapped, a face, neck and scalp massage completes this revitalising treatment. Vanilla Sandalwood: Exotic and sensuous, Indian Sandalwood is a healing moisturiser with antiseptic and toning properties. Cedarwood is known to eliminate toxins while vanilla's sweet and relaxing fragrance with an aroma mist of sandalwood adds a cooling effect, and with wrapping natural detoxification takes place. Frankincense sandalwood body milk completes this exquisite body mask which cleanses and purifies the body and mind. Sea Elements: Rich sea elements assist body nourishment for all over revitalisation and toning. High mineral and vitamin content stimulates the metabolism and increases circulation. Complemented by a refreshing ocean aroma mist, the body is then wrapped to ensure the removal of toxins and impurities. A warm shower, and the application of ocean body milk with blends of vanilla, coconut and citrus essential oils, complete the experience. Aloe & Lavender: Hydrating and luxurious fresh aloe vera gel and a toning lavender mist are applied to the body, which is then covered with banana leaves to cool and soothe the skin. Following a cool shower, the treatment concludes with an application of calming lavender body moisturiser. This is an excellent treatment for skin repair and cellular rejuvenation. varies
Ayurvedic The "science of life" is India's natural healing system. The term Ayurveda has its origins in the Sanskrit roots, ayu which means life and veda which means knowledge. It is a holistic science, more than 5,000 years old, believed to be the oldest healing therapy in existence. In Ayurveda, one addresses prevention (of ill health), longevity and natural healing. 'Shiro Dhara': Dhara translates as flow. In Ayurveda, one seeks to restore imbalances of dosha (individual constitution) and chakra (one of seven energy centers in the body) by dripping herbal oil onto key energy points located along the central nervous system. The treatment begins with a scalp massage to improve circulation and relax muscle and nerve fibres. It continues with warm herbal oil rhythmically dripped onto the forehead for mental relaxation and clarity. A warm herbal oil body massage follows which aids in detoxification and nourishment. A steam bath and a herbal dosha tea completes this restorative, warming and balancing experience for total well-being. 'Facial Lepa': The purpose of this traditional Ayurvedic facial is to detoxify, feed and nourish the skin. First the skin is exfoliated with ubvartan (herbal cleansing powder of anti-oxidant herbs), then massaged with a restorative blend of essential oils and herbs to hydrate and nourish, before balancing the doshas with lepa (Indian herbal mask). The mind is cooled and calmed with shirodhara (the pouring of oil on the third eye) which tones and rejuvenates the skin. varies
Aromatherapy Aroma: Aromatic massage appeals to all the senses and is enhanced by the choice of two essential oil blends. Solace Oil combines sandalwood, jasmine and geranium oils, while Zeal Oil is comprised of mandarin, neroli and palmarosa. The energising massage relieves stress, muscle tension and tightness in problem areas, while deep strokes and cross-fibre massage techniques increase overall well being. varies
Beauty Salon Two wash stations and two cutting/styling stations are featured. Full beauty services including manicures, pedicures and rejuvenating scalp treatments. SALON TREATMENTS:- Traditional oils for hair and scalp conditioning include avocado for normal and dry hair and fresh aloe vera for oily hair. Manicures and pedicures including sea-salt scrub and hand or foot massage with ocean lotion. Traditional Oil Treatment: The secret to lustrous and healthy hair is the utilisation of fresh coconut oil infused with pandanus leaf, fenugreek seeds, sandalwood and cinnamon. The oil application increases blood circulation and stimulates the scalp and hair follicles while a neck and shoulder massage soothes and relaxes. It is suggested that the oil be left on the hair and scalp for 3 - 4 hours prior to washing for deep conditioning. Creme Hair Bath: Hair and scalp conditioning treatments are traditional to the people of Indonesia. This treatment begins with a stimulating shampoo, then a conditioning scalp massage with your choice of avocado or aloe vera, and moisturising hair creme. Warm steam is then applied to the hair and scalp while the neck, shoulders, arms and hands are gently massaged with fragrant Solace Oil. varies
