Bahamas enjoys an average of eight and a half hours of semi-tropical sunshine every day.
Temperatures generally range from the mid-seventies in the winter to the mid-eighties in the summer. The trade winds ensure that the climate is mild all year round.

Out of about 700 islands, around 100 are at least minimally inhabited, though only a few dozen have vacation facilities. Another 2,400 smaller cays (pronounced "keys") are blissfully deserted.
